Rose Cottage and its former stable are listed buildings.
Our brief was to convert the stable into a self-catering holiday cottage and to form a private wing at the rear of the main house (more a villa than a cottage) in keeping with the style of the existing buildings, where the owners could live overlooking the garden whilst running a bed and breakfast business.
Finished externally with a reclaimed Scotch slate roof and roughcast render with double-glazed sash and case windows, the walls are constructed in a 'breathing' timber frame with recycled newspaper insulation.
