After graduating in 1982 from the Hull School of Architecture, where he met Howard Liddell the founder of Gaia Architects, Robin worked with York City Architects, Martin Stancliffe Conservation Architects and Leeds Federated Housing Association.
In the late 1980's he worked with Allen Tod Architects and was the project architect on the restoration of the 18th century Square Chapel in Halifax and a new church, training centre and children's nursery for the Church of God of Prophecy in Leeds.
Robin joined Gaia Architects in 1992 and was the project architect for Ullapool Swimming Pool, and 18 flats at 4 and 5 Leslie Court, Fairfield, Perth.
He ran the office of Gaia Architects from home in Aberfeldy from 1996 to 2004 when he moved the office into a former corner shop in Birnam.
Robin is currently the chairman of the Scottish Ecological Design Association and is an associate of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.
Grahame is an architectural technologist with over 20 years' experience. He has worked with Robin for over three years. He lives locally with his family in a house that he designed and managed the build himself.
Genie assists Robin with the office management and administration. She has her own design and photography business, is originally from the Netherlands but has lived in the UK for many years.
